He is friended with a Moose and a Porcupine; they are just a character in a book until they found a way to get out of the drawing world and live in the real world  with a mission to find their old man also known as their narrator or their creator

Harold — now grown up (Zachary Levi) — draws himself out of his storybook and into the real world, where his purple crayon still works. He creates whatever he imagines, but soon learns that unlimited imagination can cause chaos — especially when the crayon's power falls into the wrong hands. Harold and his new friends must save both the real world and his own magical realm.
