In 1904 New York, a group known as the Firemasters traps an ancient, icy demon-god called Garraka inside a brass orb, also removing his horn — the source of his power — to keep him imprisoned forever.

In modern day, Three years after the events of Afterlife, the Spengler family — Callie, her partner Gary Grooberson, and teens Trevor & Phoebe — move into the original Ghostbusters firehouse in NYC. Together with the original team (Ray, Winston, Peter) they restart ghost-busting operations. Mayor Walter Peck — old enemy of the Ghostbusters — hates their return and bans Phoebe from field work because she's underage. Feeling sidelined, Phoebe befriends Melody, the ghost of a girl who died in a fire long ago.

The Spengler family returns to where it all began — the iconic New York City firehouse. They team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level! But when an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force known as the Garraka, the new and old Ghostbusters must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.

Ray and Podcast buy an ancient brass orb from a man named Nadeem. Testing it accidentally releases a massive cold wave that damages the Ghostbusters' main containment unit — letting ghosts loose everywhere. The orb held Garraka, an ancient entity whose "Death Chill" can freeze the entire world and plunge it into a new Ice Age.

Garraka fully breaks free, shatters containment, and covers New York in ice. The temperature plummets, people freeze solid, and his "Frozen Empire" takes hold.

In the end, The world recovers. Phoebe proves her worth and stays on the team. The original Ghostbusters officially pass the torch to the Spenglers, acknowledging the new generation is ready. The firehouse remains open — ghosts will continue to be busted.

This movie is a direct sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) that Combines nostalgia for the 1984 original with new-generation characters
