Atacama Desert, Chile - The Driest Place on Earth

Where is the driest place on earth?

The driest place on earth is to be found in Chile. In the Atacama Desert at Calama. Weather reports for Chile date only from the Spanish conquest about 400 years ago. In those last 400 years not one drop of rain has fallen.
This part of the Deisorto de Atacama has suffered the longest drought in recorded history. Strangely, Chile also has one of the wettest places on earth. Not too far from Atacama Desert is Bahia Felix. In 1916 it rained there on every day of the year.
