What is a leap year?
A leap year is when a calendar year add another day in order to sync the next coming astronomical Earth days. This leap year is when you add another extra day on the month of February; this happen every four years.
So instead of 365 days a year, on the fourth year it will be 365 days.
On leap year, do employees need to work on this extra day of the year? Yes
Do employees get an extra pay on leap year? The answer is Yes and/or No. If your salary contract is yearly or weekly then you will not be getting an extra pay, but, you must go to work on leap year. And when you are paid hourly / daily/ monthly then you will get an extra pay working on Leap Year / February 29.
